Richard Milburn Academy is a free, nonsectarian, open enrollment charter school.  Richard Milburn Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex or disability in admission or access to, or treatment or employment in its programs or activities.

Parents have the flexibility to enroll or withdraw their child from RMA at any time during the academic school year.  RMA has open enrollment throughout the year allowing all of the educational program offerings to be accessible to any qualifying student.

RMA will enroll any eligible student who submits a timely application, unless the number of applications exceeds the capacity of the program, class grade level, or building, in such case, all applicants shall have an equal chance of being admitted through a random selection process in the form of a lottery.

RMA enrolls an eligible student by accepting a timely application through August 1st. If the number of applications exceeds the capacity of the program, class, grade level, or building, all applicants will have an equal chance of being admitted through a random selection process.

RMA is open to all eligible students residing in the School District. The target population to be served at RMA high schools is as follows:
•    over aged high school students
•    teen parents or parents needing Parent Infant Toddler Program
•    ages 14-21,  who are eligible for grades 9-12
•    at risk for dropping out of school and/or academic failure
•    currently expelled or reassigned by the school district
•    juvenile criminal offenders
•    credit and GPA deficiencies
•    currently dropped out of school
•    demonstrate attendance, truancy, and habitual tardy issues
•    in need of remediation in core subjects who demonstrate below grade level performance and lack of progress on state standardized tests
•    served as English Language Learners, Exceptional Education, Section 504, and students with disabilities.
