TRANSITION TO WORK / SCHOOL TO WORK
RMA provides a school to work component offering students who qualify the opportunity to participate in On the Job Training courses and work experience while enrolled at RMA. This prepares students transitioning directly to the workforce upon graduation and provides a rigorous college preparatory curriculum for students who will be attending college. Employer satisfaction surveys indicate the quality of support RMA is giving the students on the job and in the classroom.
TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION
At RMA educational technology supports meaningful learning. With a clear set of goals, expectations, and criteria for improvement in students learning, technology integration has a positive effect on student’s motivation, interest, and engagement in learning. It has an impact on student’s content acquisition and higher order thinking skills acquisition.
CREDIT RECOVERY
RMA utilizes online learning options as well as credit earning classes in our extended day program for credit acceleration specifically targeting our over aged and credit deficient high school students.
Credit recovery refers to a student passing, and receiving credit for, a course that the student previously attempted but was unsuccessful in earning academic credit towards graduation. Credit recovery often differs from “first time credit” in that the students have already satisfied seat time requirements for the course in which they were unsuccessful, and can focus on earning credit based on competency of the content standards for the particular course. Our credit recovery program, in general, has a primary focus of helping students stay in school and work toward high school promotion.
